The epic moment of one piece anime arrived when two
legendary pirate groups clashed out of which many became notorious and well
known throughout the world. At the end of episode 965, Oden was tossed by Roger
and Whitebeard joined the combat.
In episode 966, both Roger pirates and
Whitebeard pirates fought to rob each other’s treasure for three days.
Ultimately, on the fourth day, they become friendly to each other and
celebrated together by exchanging food and treasure.
While celebrating by
drinking alcohol, Roger revealed about the poneglyph and its connection to the
final island that he has been searching to Oden and Whitebeard. But the only
problem was that there was no one who can decipher the poneglyph except Oden,
so he asks a favor from Whitebeard.
When I read about the episode as a chapter
in the manga, I got a different feeling but when I saw the way Roger expressed
his wish and objective then I got overwhelmed. For years I have been thinking
about one particular dialogue often said by many characters at various
instances in past episodes like Luffy resembles Roger and how Luffy uttered
exact words said by Roger, but I never understood what it meant. For the first
time in episode 966 when Roger his desire to become King of Pirates, I felt
like Luffy is there. I got goosebumps while watching that scene.
In order to become pirate king, Roger needs Oden’s help.
Despite Whitebeard’s objection Oden agreed to help Roger. Though Whitebeard
agrees afterward but Roger pirates leave food and treasure behind to say thanks
for the favor whitebeard has done.
Izo, Dogstorm, and Cat viper decide to stay
with whitebeard pirates but Dogstorm and Cat viper sneaks into Roger pirate’s
ship. With the arrival of Oden, though there was some disagreement but later
everyone opens up and welcomes him wholeheartedly when he cooked delicious Oden
for everyone.
In the next episode, we get to revisit all significant
places related to poneglyph which has already been shown in one piece like
Jaya, Skypiea, Water seven, Fish-men Island.
