REVIEW OF 911 LONE STAR SEASON 1

911 Lone Star is a spin-off series from the original series of 911 which is based on the personal and professional conditions of firefighters, emergency medical team, police department, and 911 dispatch team. The reason why this series is named as lone star, because the story is spread around Austin town of Texan state which is also known as lone star state. The story revolves around the lone survivor of his firehouse, Owen Strand in the 9/11 attacks in New York. He got transferred to Austin when firehouse 126 almost lost all members leaving few. Owen has a son named TK who had a relapse of substance when his boyfriend broke up with him when he wanted to propose. After escaping a near-death experience he was forced by his father to accompany him to help him to rebuild the new firehouse. The firehouse has its challenges beginning from forming a new team, renovating structures, and dealing with other challenges with past employees of house. The series focuses on the life balance of personal and professional lives of employees and how they help each other to grow collectively. The major focus in the series were the firefighters and the captain of EMS of 126 house, Michelle Blake who was desperately searching for her sister for over 3 years. Her friend Carlos Reyes who is in APD (Austin Police Department) helps to find clues about her sister’s whereabouts.

Before Owen left New York, he was diagnosed with lung cancer which is kept a secret from everyone even from his son and moved to Austin to build a new firehouse. He builds a new team consisting of his son TK, Judd who survived in 126 when all other his members died, Marjan well known as firefox on social media for quick wits, Paul and Mateo.

Each character faces their own challenges in the new town but other team members help each to adjust to new circumstances. The series has major attractions for breathtaking storyline, emotional turmoil frontline firefighters face on-field and of course representation of social differences in the workplace. Personally, I got glued to this series of unexpected and surprising romantic story of TK and Carlos. Though they received the least screen time together but they emerged as powerful couple not only representing LGBTQ couples rather also giving couple goals who maintains personal and professional lives. To be frank, I never thought I would be so into this series but I have seen the psychological conditions everyone maintains during a crisis blew my mind. My most favorite character is Grace of the 911 dispatch team who solved many crucial cases on her own only by giving directions to the callers. The best episode of season 1 is the last episode when Austin is hit with a solar storm due to chaos spread in the town. Within that chaos, Michelle finds her sister living under a bridge in a tent. The best thing was after chaos a natural beauty appeared in the sky which was beautiful. TK and Carlos on the car under the beautiful night sky were marvelous to watch. That scene snatched my heart.
