MY REVIEW OF EPISODE 7 OF GAYA SA PELIKULA

 Flawless and emotional episode

There was none a bl series who showed real problems faced by homosexuals in the society. This episode began with an ominous feeling but after the intro, it seemed like everything is fine and both the lead characters, Vlad and Karl are enjoying together. All their sweet moments made me forget all worries at that moment. Even the way they act seemed so natural that I thought that both of them are actually in a relationship. But it was so fun to watch acting cute in bed and the swimming pool scene took me off because I knew that there will be one since it is one of the iconic scenes for every 'polca' fan, sadly I didn't get underwater kiss scene like it was there in Dark Blue Kiss series but still, it was amusing to watch two cute half-naked guys spending alone time in the pool. On the way back to their apartment they meet Judit accidentally and invites her inside since she directly forced them to do so. When went inside they found that Karl's uncle Santi was waiting for him. He asks Vlad about his cute boyfriend which makes Karl jealous. Karl gets disappointed by the fact that his uncle and Vlad knew each other but Vlad never cared to mention that. While confronting Vlad about that he replied that he thought that it was not a big issue to mention so he never did. Before this scene, it was seen that Vlad seems to be planning with someone. Actually, I thought he was talking to his ex-boyfriend but later it was revealed that he was talking to Anna. Karl who was unknown about this fact and kept on sulking. On the other hand, Santi began observing things and the closeness between Karl and Vlad. To divert him Judit insisted him to tell him about his story and why he was here. Upon talking it is revealed that his boyfriend cheated on him that why he came to visit Karl. During this time Vlad kept on receiving phone call which was on the dining table. Karl noticed that and noted the to check whose number it is. When Santi was explaining how he caught his boyfriend cheating on him, Anna interrupts them and Judit gets angry at her. Though while explaining in words it is not funny but I laughed at that scene. Surprisingly even Karl called that noted number at the same time and found that it was Anna's number. It was funnier to watch when everything synced at the same time. During dinner, Anna informs Vlad that his package is ready and he just has to give a signal to complete the work. It seemed that Vlad planned with Anna to give a surprise gift to Karl maybe Vlad felt that it was the right time to confess his feelings for Karl. While dinner Anna presents a toast which was nice to hear because her story touched my heart even though she is clumsy sometimes. Judit asks Santi to take Vlad downstairs to receive his desserts. In the point of view of filmography, I appreciate the fact the shown Vlad and Karl scene in that manner that viewers get to hear their answers when they were confronted about their feelings, though whatever maybe their answer but I found it interesting presentation. I felt like that the episode was edited from the point of view of the audience which is rarely found in other series. Speaking of content, Judit confronts Karl about his relationship with her brother. Anna intercepts her saying that 'An ally never corner someone'. Actually, I found it very true because most of the people are not comfortable about declaring their sexual orientation publicly so they need time to come out and I liked that Anna supported that point though Judit rejected her claim saying that she is a sister first. I agree with both Judit and Anna, in that scene, I found so many things I could relate to. I felt that in that scene there not a single useless scene. Each and every scene was meaningful and gave some message. I liked that Judit stood for her brother though she claimed herself as an ally but still she had to do so to protect her brother from the pain of heartbreak again. At the same time, Santi explains Vlad that he knew about his relationship with Karl and him how he actually feels about it. Vlad accepts his feelings for Karl but Santi asks Vlad that if he truly loves Karl them he should give some time to Karl to accept his feelings towards Vlad. Vlad agrees with Santi and decides to give time to Karl. Judit tells Karl that Vlad recently went through heartbreak and he is kind of person who openly declares his love. He will soon move forward when he is in a relationship. So if Karl is not ready for that then he should leave Vlad before it is too late. This put Karl at a difficult position and he seemed uncomfortable answering her question. It was nice of Anna that she held Karl's hand to support him but Karl looks at his parents' photo at the dining table and says that 'not in the way you thinks'. This was a very awkward scene because Vlad accepted his feelings but Karl is in denial. Karl left the room to get some fresh air but Anna stopped him by saying that the gazebo is in maintenance but Karl visits there and found that Vlad had planned a surprise for him. He made a short film of himself and Karl during the time they spent together. Vlad heads to gazebo after Anna informs him about the blunder. Now Vlad and Karl are together and watches the film. Karl learns how Vlad sees him. He kisses Vlad. It was an unexpected scene because I don't know what Karl is doing. He denied his feelings but still drawing himself towards Vlad. It seems like his mind and heart is contradicting with each other. Actually, it is not a funny scene when the kiss scene ended Anna, Santi and Judit were standing there and they were watching the kiss scene. I found it funny I don't know why but what happened next gave goosebumps. Karl panicked when he saw that they were caught red-handed. Vlad assures him that he will take care of everything but Karl was so scared to listen. Vlad asks Karl whether he is ashamed of loving Vlad for which Karl answered that he don't know, he don't whether is like Vlad. He asks Vlad whether everything can be like before but it seemed like it was too late for that now. Vlad understood that his relationship with Karl was like his previous relationship. He ran away but Judit stopped him. She comforts him. The scene in which Vlad cried like a baby over Judit's shoulder broke my heart. That scene shattered my heart. I never thought that I would have to watch Vlad crying so badly. Now I just hope that this series doesn't end with a sad ending. I don't know what will be the future plot maybe Karl decides to come out and may face his parents. This upcoming episode will be the last episode of this series. Since there is no announcement yet but still I want this series to continue by doing more projects like this.
